MM2 has a few ways to play. Standard is the classic mode most servers use.

| Standard | One Murderer, one Sheriff, everyone else Innocent. Perks/powers, pets, radios and emotes all work. Previously called Casual. |
| Disguises | Everyone looks the same and gets a code-word name (Alpha, Bravo...) for the round. Pets, radios and Roblox emotes are off. Previously called Hardcore. |
| Assassin | Everyone gets a knife and a target. Take out your target to get a new one; last player alive wins. Stabbing the wrong person briefly disables your knife. |
